Color Walk
Blinding florescent lights, the nauseating aroma of formaldehyde, the framed photos of planets that line one wall from start to finish, what else could better represent the science wing. This section of the school with all of its imperfections happens to be my favorite. One item in this wing has a special place in my heart, that object is the large hand crafted green dinosaur head mounted on the wall at the top of the staircase. While I appreciate the craftsmanship its not necessarily the item itself that brings such fond feelings for me but the memories of the first few times I saw it. The first day of junior year was a stressful day mostly because I knew I was going to have to go to Astronomy fourth block. This class had been built up to me as being the "hardest class at Kickapoo" so naturally I was terrified. This was until I met the teacher who changed my life and the way I look at school. Mr. Snyder has always made sure I, as well as all of his other students that are willing to put forth effort, have a real understanding of how college will be. He has really helped me to see the potential in myself and in my classmates, ever since that day that I first climbed the stairs and saw the neon green paint on the dinosaur head I have learned so much and that to me is so important.

Mr. Snyder is quite inspirational! I've read a lot about him over the years from my students...
