Romance (Narrative Poem)
For me it wasn’t the grand gestures, or the box of chocolates or sparkling diamond necklace on Valentine’s Day. It wasn't the amount of money he could spend on me because I knew he just didn't have it. I knew he worked two jobs and long grueling hours because he wanted me to have those things. For me it’s the way a single glance from him can make me feel like I’m home, it’s the way he knew my past left me the lonliest shade of grey and he found the most beautiful bright colors and painted the most grey parts of me and made me happy again. That is what romance is to me it was never the need to be essentially bought with fancy things, it’s knowing that know matter what hardships you go through you have him and he has you.

  1. This is beautiful, and I could not agree more. Some girls just do not realize that. If he can bring a smile to your face on the darkest of days, those are the parts that really matter. I really enjoyed this piece.

  3. That's true love, I think...someone who is your "home."
