Writer's Dreaming

3. I feel like the more you put the bad things the more power they hold over you. I think this is true because the more you talk about them the more you worry about them and let them consume your thoughts and your life almost gets taken over by the bad things.  I also think that by putting them out into the world to other people it allows those negative feelings to spread.Worrying about the bad things that could happen also is not helpful because the more you start to believe a bad thing can happen the more you are setting yourself up for it to happen. An example that comes to mind is simply saying negative words about a person, especially to other friends because those words could get back to them and they could begin to think those negative thoughts about themselves and it just shows that the more words are spread around the more weight they carry.

5. I do not honestly think I could go for five years without saying a word. Personally I go back and forth between saying too much and not saying enough. I am a very shy person around everyone but my friends and I wish I could stand up for myself more. I am a big believer in just stopping to listen sometimes, because I enjoy hearing other people's point of view on different things where I can grasp a better understanding of not just my own opinions about things but theirs too no matter what that view might be. By speaking more I feel like you don't come across as standoffish and by appearing in that way you become acquainted with more people and get to experience more of life.

 7. I am a person who has very a very clear recollection of certain periods of my life but very unclear memories of others. I would love to remember everything about my life, I think it is very important to have certain memories and there are some times I wish I could remember that I don't. We only get one life and I wish I could remember every second that I get. The periods of my life that are the clearest are the stand out moments, not that if another time is brought up I wouldn't remember it, but those just are the clearest for me. Unfortunately it's more of the sad or embarrassing moments that I remember, for example I don't remember a happy moment like losing my first tooth, but I remember getting hit in the face with a soccer ball in kindergarten. There are some exceptions and I do remember overwhelmingly happy moments but I feel like in my life I am fortunate enough to have a lot of happy moments so the bad moments happen to stand out more.

11. I do not think that you cannot learn things past twenty-five. I think that because you have done a majority of your learning prior to that point you are lead to believe that you are just done after a certain time but I think that just because you age doesn't mean you are done learning. I do think that once you get older you do become more focused on a certain path but I do not think that you cannot learn anymore. I hope to learn something new every day of my life. I think it might be a little harder to learn but not impossible.

  1. I understand what you said about feeling like you want to be able to remember more of your life...lots of mine is blurry now, but I get even more panicked thinking about all I've already forgotten about my son growing up.
